One man was killed and another seriously injured in a two-vehicle accident Saturday night in Escambia County.
A 31-year-old Pensacola man was driving an SUV south on County Road 97 north of Arena Road, and a 57-year old Cantonment man was driving behind him on a motorcycle at about 7:34 p.m.
The motorcycle attempted to properly pass the SUV, when the SUV attempted to make a left turn into a driveway, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The driver of the SUV failed to observe the motorcycle passing, resulting in the front of the motorcycle striking the left side of the SUV.
The driver of the SUV was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the motorcycle was taken to the same hospital via helicopter, but died due to his injuries.
The SUV driver was wearing a seatbelt, and the driver of the motorcycle was wearing a helmet.
