The Pensacola Tom Thumb on North W Street closed temporarily Saturday after a store employee tested positive for COVID-19.

Officials from the gas station and convenience store at 6495 North W St. announced Monday morning that the store closed as of 8 p.m. Saturday so an industrial cleaning crew could clean and sanitize.

The store said it should re-open in the early half of this week.

"All team members who work at the store have been contacted and advised to follow CDC-recommended guidelines," the store said in an email statement. "We are making every effort to provide the affected team member and our broader team with the necessary resources and support."
