A bicyclist was killed in a hit-and-run crash late Thursday, and authorities are looking for any information about the vehicle involved.
The bicyclist, a 50-year-old man from Pensacola, was struck by a vehicle on Palafox Street, just north of Johnson Avenue at approximately 11:16 p.m., according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.
A dark colored vehicle was traveling north on Palafox Street when it collided with the rear of the bicyclist, who was also traveling north on Palafox. Just after the crash, the vehicle fled the scene and was last seen driving northbound on Palafox.
As a result of the collision, the bicyclist suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased by Escambia County EMT on the scene.
The vehicle is said to be dark in color, possibly a Chevrolet Cruze. It has damage to the front and passenger side, possibly including the windshield, and is missing a passenger side mirror.
